BE YOU - PART I
I held a session on this context some weekends ago as led by the Spirit of God. This context might not seem interesting to you but if you want to fulfil purpose and mandate, you need to read through and apply it to your life. It is a very clear and straightforward context.
I will begin with Genesis 1:26-27 which says, And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
From that passage of the scriptures, it is very clear that you were made in God's likeness and his own image. Why then are you being someone else if God has actually created you to be in his own likeness, in his own uniqueness? He has created you to be unique and distinct. He didn't create you to be someone else. He created you to be who you are. He created you to be the exact model he wants you to be and I want you to understand that for every single human being here on earth, you have a specific assignment you are to do, you have a specific purpose or mandate you need to fulfil.
Until you are able to understand that you need to be you, not get carried away by being what others are and by being what you are supposed to be, you will keep stressing yourself over what ordinarily you shouldn't be stressing upon. You need to be you.
Even the Bible affirms it that before he formed us, he knew us. Therefore, you should trust your maker when he gives you an assignment and purpose to fulfil and believe that you can actually fulfil that assignment and not being carried away by what others are doing. Just be you.
We are in an age whereby virtually everyone has gone digital, technology has given rise to a whole lot of things. So many people are fulfilling purposes, so many are tagging along, so many feel like following the crowd to do what they are doing.
I don't know if you have started out something or not, but, if you have and you discover that things are not going the way you expected, kindly, go back and check if you are actually fulfilling the purpose for which God brought you to earth.
You cannot be on this earth and you want to be someone else and succeed; it is not possible. You will keep struggling. At first, it might seem as if you are succeeding but trust me, that which you are doing that is not meant to be yours to do, will not stand the test of time.
Until you are able to understand that you were made in God's likeness and in his own image, thereby, knowing that you are distinct and different, trust me, you will keep failing, you will keep losing things that you hold so dear that are not meant to be yours.
Be you. Just be yourself.
